Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day1

    Nairobi → Masai Mara

Pick-up at your hotel or straight from the airport. Lunch stop in Narok, then into the reserve with a game drive to camp. Check-in, dinner and overnight — you can see the river's hippos from the camp veranda.

  2. Day2

    Masai Mara, full day

Game drive from 7 am, picnic lunch by the Mara River or back at camp depending on where the animals take us. A short rest and out again until sunset. Dinner and overnight.

  3. Day3

    Masai Mara → Lake Nakuru

After breakfast we reach Lake Nakuru for lunch. Afternoon photo safari: flamingos, pelicans, white rhino and, with luck, the shy black rhino and tree-climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

  4. Day4

    Lake Nakuru → Amboseli

Early start for Amboseli. Game drive from the gate: lion, gazelle, giraffe, elephant, buffalo, zebra and hyena. Camp at the foot of Kilimanjaro and a drive to Lake Amboseli until sunset. After dinner, by the fire, a Maasai welcome performance.

  5. Day5

    Amboseli → Tsavo West

Early game drive towards Tsavo West. Stop at the Shetani Lava Flow, an 8 km river of black lava, then a short walk to Mzima Springs to watch hippos and crocodiles in crystal-clear water. Lunch at the lodge with elephant and buffalo at the waterhole. Afternoon drive to the Ngulia hills and the black rhino sanctuary. After dinner, with luck, the leopard.

  6. Day6

    Tsavo West → Tsavo East

Off at 6:30 with a game drive to the exit, then along the Nairobi–Mombasa road to Tsavo East, towards Mudanda Rock and the Galana River. Lodge around 1 pm, lunch and time watching the waterhole, then a drive from 3:30 pm until sunset.

  7. Day7

    Tsavo East → Watamu

Last sunrise game drive, then we leave the park and arrive at your resort in Watamu.
